Vertical Arabic Calligraphy Panel — Acrylic Islamic Wall Art

A single line of Arabic calligraphy, drawn as one continuous gesture and set to run from top to bottom. The whole composition hangs off a long tapering spine — the nib-cut stroke of a reed pen held at an angle — with the rest of the letters threaded around it: a hooked head near the top, a pair of interlaced loops at the centre where the script doubles back through itself, and a deep bowl that closes the line at the foot. The dots are cut as small rhombi, the way a calligrapher's pen lays them down. One piece, no frame, no backing board.

The proportions are the point. At 30 cm wide the panel stands about 125 cm tall, so it wants a narrow wall rather than a broad one — beside a doorway, up a stairwell, on the pier between two windows, or either side of a majlis seat. Gloss piano black reads as a drawn ink line and holds its edge against pale plaster. Mirror gold warms the wall around it and catches lamplight after dark. Mirror chrome silver stays cooler and sharper, and sits well in rooms already working in steel, glass and grey.

• Material: 3mm cast acrylic, cut on the CO2 laser in our own Dubai workshop.

• Sizes: stated by width; height scales in proportion — 20 cm wide stands about 83 cm tall, 25 cm about 104 cm, and 30 cm about 125 cm. Check your drop before ordering.
• Mounting: float-mounted — it sits off the wall rather than flat against it.
• Made in the UAE: drawn, cut and finished in our Dubai workshop.
• Gifting: a steady housewarming or new-home piece, particularly for a hallway or stairwell with height nobody has worked out how to fill.
