Hasbi Allah Kufi Calligraphy — Acrylic Islamic Wall Art

The panel stacks two hands of Arabic script, one above the other. At the top the name Allah is built in squared Kufi — straight vertical shafts, interlaced knotwork across the shoulders and a crown of split palmette leaves, so the word stands like a tower rather than lying along a line. Beneath it a single unbroken cursive sweep carries the word hasbi, with the calligrapher's signature tucked small against its tail. Read together the piece says Hasbi Allah: Allah is sufficient for me. It is cut as one continuous panel, tall and narrow, about twice as high as it is wide.

The proportions suit the narrow walls most rooms have one of — a stair wall, the strip between a doorway and a corner, the space beside a tall mirror, or a pair flanking a window. At the 50 cm width the piece stands about 102 cm tall, so check your drop before ordering. Gloss piano black holds a firm silhouette against pale plaster and reads from across the room. Mirror gold warms under lamplight and carries a little of the room back into the letterforms. Mirror chrome silver stays cooler and sits well on charcoal paint, walnut or exposed concrete.

• Sizes: stated by width; height scales in proportion — the 50 cm width stands about 102 cm tall.
• Mounting: float-mounted — it sits off the wall rather than flat against it.
• Made in the UAE: drawn, cut and finished in our Dubai workshop.
• Gifting: a quiet piece for a new home or a wedding — the phrase is everyday dhikr rather than something tied to one date in the year.
