Bismillah Medallion Pair — Acrylic Islamic Wall Art
The Basmala — بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم, “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful” — drawn twice and cut as a matched pair of medallions. The script is Thuluth, composed into a circle so the tall alifs of الله rise through the centre and the long sweep of the sin carries the line along the base. The two discs are complements of one another: one holds the words as open voids inside a solid disc with a sawtooth rim, the other frees the letters themselves inside a stepped diamond border. Hung side by side they read as a single composition rather than two separate pieces.
A pair this wide suits a sofa wall, a long entryway, or the run above a console or majlis seating, with roughly a hand’s width left between the two discs. Sizes below are the full width across both medallions together; each disc is a little under half that, and the height is the height of one disc. In gloss piano black the pair reads graphic and quiet against a pale wall. Mirror gold warms a dark or stone-coloured wall and catches lamplight after sunset. Mirror chrome silver stays cooler, and sits well with glass, steel and grey plaster.
