Ayat al-Kursi Teardrop — Acrylic Islamic Wall Art

Ayat al-Kursi, the Throne Verse from Surah al-Baqarah, drawn as a single teardrop. The opening words — Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa l-ḥayyu l-qayyūm — sit at the heart of the composition in heavy Thuluth, the alif of the divine name rising to form the point of the drop. The rest of the verse wraps around them as a fine ring, every letter cut clean through the sheet so the wall shows between the strokes. It is one continuous piece rather than a set of panels, and the open counters do as much work as the letterforms.

It suits a majlis wall, a prayer corner, or the run of hallway above a console where a tall piece has room to breathe. At 80 cm wide it stands roughly 103 cm high, so check your drop before choosing a size. Gloss piano black reads as a crisp silhouette against pale plaster and is the easiest to live with in a bright room. Mirror gold catches lamplight and warms a darker wall. Mirror chrome silver stays cooler and sharper, sitting well with grey, stone and contemporary joinery.
