Alhamdulillah — Sculptural Arabic Calligraphy in Acrylic

One phrase, drawn as one movement. Alhamdulillah — all praise is due to Allah — is cut here as a single flowing line, the loops and the long closing stroke carrying it from the first letter to the last. The form is sculptural enough to hold a wall on its own; the words are what it is there for. It settles as easily above a console in a modern apartment as it does in the majlis.

Each piece is cut from 3mm cast acrylic on the CO2 laser in our own Dubai workshop. Gloss piano black holds the shape in clean silhouette; mirror gold and mirror chrome catch the light in the room and shift with it through the day. Float mounting lifts the letterform clear of the wall, so a soft shadow follows the curve of the stroke.
