Ala Bi Dhikrillah Roundel — Acrylic Islamic Wall Art

A single roundel of Thuluth calligraphy, drawn so that the whole verse closes into a circle. The text is Alā bi-dhikrillāhi taṭma'innu al-qulūb — "Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured" — from Surah Ar-Ra'd, verse 28. The reading starts low on the right with alā bi-dhikri, climbs through the name of Allah at the top of the ring, turns through taṭma'innu across the middle, and settles into al-qulūb on the left. Tall alif and lam stems carry the eye upward, and the vowel marks fill the spaces between them, so the circle reads as one continuous line rather than stacked words.

A round composition suits a wall that has no obvious centre — above a console in the entrance hall, over the head of a bed, or on the short wall of a majlis where a rectangle would sit awkwardly. Gloss piano black is the quietest of the three: it reads as a drawn line against a pale wall and sinks into a dark one. Mirror gold warms under lamplight and picks up the colour of whatever is around it. Mirror chrome silver stays cooler and more graphic, and holds its edge against grey, concrete and stone.

• Material: 3mm cast acrylic, cut on the CO2 laser in our own Dubai workshop.
• Finishes: gloss piano black, mirror gold, or mirror chrome silver.
• Sizes: stated by width; the piece is round, so the height matches the width — a 120 cm roundel stands 120 cm tall.
• Mounting: float-mounted — it sits off the wall rather than flat against it.
• Made in the UAE: drawn, cut and finished in our Dubai workshop.
• Gifting: a steady choice for a housewarming, a wedding or a new majlis — the verse is widely loved and not tied to a season.
